Forging, fabrication, and the art of shaping steel.

Metalwork

Fire and Iron

Metal has been my primary medium for years. There’s something irreplaceable about the process—heating steel until it glows, feeling it move under the hammer, watching raw material transform into intentional form.

Metal Museum, Memphis

My time at the Metal Museum deepened my understanding of traditional techniques and connected me to a lineage of makers stretching back centuries. Working alongside master smiths, I learned that metalworking is as much about patience and observation as it is about strength.

Manufacturing Experience

Industrial metalworking taught me different lessons: precision, repeatability, efficiency. The challenge of translating artistic vision into production-ready processes has shaped how I approach every project.

The Work

My metalwork ranges from sculptural pieces to functional objects. Each project begins with the same questions: What does this material want to become? What purpose will it serve? How can the process itself inform the final form?

Whether forging a gate, crafting hardware, or creating a sculptural installation, the fundamentals remain constant—heat, hammer, anvil, and time.
